Create Your My Story Booklet
Watch Paul’s “My Story” from Acts 22. Watch this to gain inspiration for writing your own “My Story”
Writing Guidelines
500 words: Besides the apostle Paul’s being under 500 words in Acts 22 and 26, it needs to be this length to fit on three pages.
Three Parts.
Before receiving Christ:
Vulnerability, if there is a willingness: The more vulnerable you are to the reader, the more open the reader is to the Lord. But, I encourage people to make sure their spouse is OK with the level of vulnerability.
How I received Christ/came to faith:
What has happened since:
Other Encouragement:
Attention grabbing intro: After reading this, the reader will want to read the first paragraph. This is not the place to talk about church or why you went or didn’t go.
Don’t use churchy/religious vocabulary or terms.
If you became a Christian at a young age, then a Lordship decision as an adult, would be good.
Because the 4-Laws are a part of the package, you can focus more on what happened to you: The 4-Laws will make the application.
Motivational thoughts: Jesus likes your story (Luke 15:10) and he likes when you share it (Luke 12:8).
Take it to a teacher to get it corrected: The thought of having to take it to a teacher will improve you work greatly. You could give the teacher a Jesus film as a thank you.
Name and contact information (If you desire this): This could be a line or two at the end and more on the back of the booklet.
